Nearby Public Beaches
The Reversing Falls Rapids area has amazing beaches !
Four great beaches are within 5 minutes of Reversing Falls Rapids. All beaches in Canada are public lands below the high water mark and free for visitors to enjoy ! Have a good walk, experience the ocean up close and the wonders of beachcombing.
Plan with the tides … Bay of Fundy beaches greatly enlarge and expose more sand and sea creatures around low tide. Search for sea glass and flint that was once ballast in sailing ships.
There is a rustic and very beautiful seashore walking trail along the cliff above the beaches between Bay Shore Beach and McLarens. It is possible to follow the trail around Sheldon Point to Saint’s Rest beach. Public parking is available at all beaches except Duck Cove which can be accessed from Bay Shore, the Seashore Trail or Seaside Park.
Also check New River Beach Provincial Park. This beach is the largest, most sandy, includes washroom facilities and food at the “Gull and Herring” canteen. Camping is available too. We highly recommend New River Beach.
